Professional Experience
INTEL CORPORATION, Santa Clara, CA
Web Design Contractor, September 2006 – present
Working as a full-time contractor for the Intel Legal Infrastructure department. Lead designer on the content team that completely overhauled the internal Intel Legal Web site, moving the site from HTML and ASP pages to a Microsoft CMS site. Redesigned the user interface of the Web site based on feedback from focus groups and good design principals. Oversaw and delegated work to a small team of contractors. Researched and implemented changes to new internal Wiki client.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENT
- A critical system-wide error threatened the site launch just two days before “go live.” Set up a meeting with the technical team to hash out the issue, but in the two hours prior to the meeting, was able to debug the error and get the system back running without the technical team’s help.
VMWARE INC., Palo Alto, CA
UI Design Contractor, February – March 2007
In role as short-term full-time contractor, developed prototypes of an in-program tutorial and help files. Took client and user feedback and integrated to build final version of program. Tracked last-minute updates and issues to stay ahead of launch-time issues. Able to build a fully-functional tutorial and help program under tight deadlines.
KEY ACCOMPLISHMENT
- Diagnosed and troubleshot a major CSS issue that cropped up during integration of the files into the program. Determined the issue to be caused by the way the program handled the DOCTYPE declaration. Worked with programmers to solve the issue to the satisfaction of the client.
